In earlier posts I have explored the identity of bible Adam and India's Adinath. Some weeks ago I stumbled on some information which somehow confirms my research.
It turns out that the Ismaili gnostic muslims also considers Adam a spiritual master (and not a sinner who caused the downfall of humanity), in fact He is one of the six major Prophetic Messengers, and a pre-Mohammed Imam. And he is from India, which only means he is the same Adinath revered by the jainas and recognized as an important ancient spiritual patriarch by most indian sects and religions.
The amazing doesn't end here. Ismaili gnostic cosmology seems to be missing link between Jainism (shramana religion) and Sethian gnosticism, since it has beliefs matching both traditions. Like jainism; creation is cyclic with a list of prophets scheduled to come to assist humanity, and like Sethian Gnosticism; there are two Adams, the historic Adam and the original Adam from higher spiritual realms.
